An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Llandegla Community Shop and Café. We are looking for a cook to join our manager and team of volunteers providing an essential service to Llandegla and the local area. The role will require a degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the café and shop.
Hours – Approximately 8-16 hours per week, weekend work (Saturday & Sunday) will be required.
Renumeration - to be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities to include:
•Taking orders, preparing and serving a range of simple hot and cold meals, drinks, sandwiches, cakes and snacks
•General kitchen and associated café duties
•Dealing with customers, handling cash and card payments
•Serving customers both in the café and shop
•Ensuring all areas are clean and well presented
•Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate records
Essential skills:
•Previous kitchen, cooking and shop experience
•Enthusiastic with a positive attitude to customer service
•Friendly and approachable personality
•Good numeracy and administration skills
•A flexible approach to tasks with the ability to deal with change
•Organised, efficient and able to multitask
•Attention to detail with good presentation skills
•Able to work on own initiative and without supervision
Desirable skills: (although training will be given to the right candidate)
•Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate or equivalent
•IT literate
